The Robe patented MCFE™ – Multi-Coloured Flower Effect – creates sharp, multi-coloured spikes of light, that are fully rotatable in both directions, at variable speeds.
In white light source fixtures, the multicolour effect is brought to you via a specially designed split-colour filter, which can be altered by combining it with the other colour wheel or CMY flags. Our innovative MSL™ additive colour mixing engines go one step further and creates this effect directly from the engine, with various colour combinations and no filters to reduce the light output.
When selected, the luminaire will mimic the colour temperature of a tungsten lamp as you lower the output to produce that classic warm glow.
Robe has included a dedicated +/- green control channel in fixtures that feature our MSL™ specific white TE™ source fixtures. This allows you to make the smallest changes of green content compared to the fixed levels produced by the specific filters on white source fixtures.
Robe's proprietary 4 blade framing shutter module offers absolute beam control with each blade on an individual level with separate movement and rotation control. They are ultra-thin, enabling them all to be focused sharp, without any distortion. They can be easily used in combination with a gobo – and even if you add colour, you will experience no chromatic aberration, also referred to as "Fringing", making our innovative framing shutters really stand out!
Robe's innovative framing shutter emulation delivers a variety of beam shaping forms, usually only achievable with framing shutters and beam shapers.
Robe barndoors operate the same way as a conventional 4 leaf barndoor. The quick, accurate internal barndoor system provides individual position control of the 4 “leafs” and +/- 90° rotation of the complete module assembly.
Found in our wash lights, our scrim control feature gives you the ability to remove those distracting “hot spots” from the beam where the distance of the illuminated surface is closer to the fixture. By applying the graduated scrim filter, this can easily be removed and changed into an even flat field.
The edge colour correction sets Robe wash moving heads aside from other fixtures by providing the ability to shift the edge of the beam to either the red or blue end. This feature allows more or less definition of the internal barn doors cut, as you alter the beam.
The patented prism effects engine can overlay two levels of prisms and produce a wide array of varying beam and ‘flower’ effects, further creating a whole new collection of eye-popping creativity.
Robe fixtures homogenise beams really well but, for the ultimate smoothness, most of our pixelated LED wash lights can easily be fitted with a Fresnel Wash (FW) diffusion filter in-between the LED array and the lenses. They can also be ordered pre-installed if desired, as FW versions.
Robe's patented motorized Beam Shaper creates a traditional oval beam that can be indexed to cover the desired stage or performance area.
By introducing our unique, patented 6:1 ratio hotspot lens, we alter the field characteristics to create a centre-weighted, peaked beam. By adding a frost filter, you can now effortlessly achieve silky-smooth washes!
Robe's motorized discharge lamp hot-spot control provides remote control of the beams hot-spot via a dedicated hot-spot control channel.
The General Device Type Format creates a unified definition for exchange of data for the operation of intelligent luminaries, such as moving lights. The file format is human readable and developed using open source formats.
